Water
Drinking water helps maintain brain activity. Pupils are encouraged to drink plenty of water throughout the day. They may take bottles of water into classes (but no other forms of canned or bottled drinks). Bottled water is sold in the school cafeteria. Bottles can be re-filled with chilled water at the fountains near the girls’ cloakroom on the ground floor.
Website
A wide range of information about the school is also available on the school’s website on the internet. The website address is www.campbeltowngrammar.org.uk
Work Experience
Pupils leaving S4 normally take part in one week's work experience in local business and industries in October annually. They prepare for this during the Personal and Social Education programme. All premises on which work experience takes place, and the nature of the work to be done, are fully vetted by the Council’s Health and Safety department before pupils are allowed to go there. We also check that the employer is suitably insured and knows the limits to what a pupil may be asked to do. The school provides any necessary protective clothing. All pupils receive a visit from a member of staff during their work experience to check that all is going well.
Work Permits
Pupils must have a work permit signed by their Year Head before taking up part-time employment. Application forms for work permits are available from Mrs Thomson, Attendance and Welfare Officer. The application must contain details of the hours to be worked.
