RSS Feeds

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and provides an easy way to receive updates from websites you subscribe to. So you don't need to revisit those sites for updates because the news comes to you.

On this site RSS feeds are in orange with the word ‘FEED’. RSS To use the feed right click your mouse on the orange icon and go to ‘Copy Shortcut’ on a PC on a Mac use ‘Copy link location’ then paste this into your RSS reader.

A news aggregator also called an RSS reader, will check all of your favorite websites and will inform you if new content has arrived. There are readers for both Windows and Mac users. There are also online services that work in most browsers, so you eliminate the need for downloading an application. For more information go here.

Snap Shots

Snap Shots allows for an enhanced way to surf weblinks because links are no longer blind, but a source of information. You will see that most external links on this site use Snap Shots. These links have a small ‘bubble’ icon next to the link. If you roll over the icon with your mouse you will see a image of the website.

Visual design

This website uses cascading style sheets for visual layout.

If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets the content of each page will be readable.

The site has been designed so that text will scale proportionally in relation to the size of text in a browser. Most browsers allow the user to increase or decrease the text size.

On Windows

If you use Firefox, Mozilla or Netscape Navigator version 6 or later, change the text size by holding down the CTRL key and press the plus key (CTRL + plus) or minus key (CTRL + minus) to increase or decrease the text size respectively.

If you use Internet Explorer, on the menu bar choose View > Text Size and then the desired size from the list.

On Macintosh OS X

In all the most popular browsers, excluding Opera, hold down the Command key and press the plus (CMD + plus) or minus (CMD + minus) key to increase or decrease the text size respectively.

In Opera on Windows and Macintosh OS X

Unlike other browsers, Opera uses a 'page zoom' feature to magnify text and images on a web page. To choose a different zoom level, from Opera's menu bar choose View > Zoom and then the percent of magnification you desire.
