Art
For many the Art Department is the most popular department in the school. The department is staffed by Mrs Oman, Mr Lewis and Ms Wrightson. It teaches all levels of Art and Design from 1st year through to Advanced Higher as well as Film and Digital photography courses.
You will see the influence of the Art Department wherever you go in the school, from the many Murals on the walls to the various exhibitions in the dining hall, the conference room as well as the local hospital and gallery spaces. Every year the Art Department produces the School Christmas card and contributes the best work of the year to the School calendar.
Art Club is a popular choice for many on a Tuesday afternoon and there you will get to participate in the many local and national competitions that regularly come up. Every year we also participate in an international exchange of work and our pupils work can be found as far away as Japan!
Pupils are encouraged to have belief in their own work and we regularly exhibit pupils best pieces for sale in conjunction with a local business, Gallery 10.
