English Homework
Homework is an integral constituent of a student?s work, serving both to assist in the completion, consolidation and extension of class work and to develop and galvanise the habit of home study which is beyond question vital to both achievement and attainment. It is therefore the policy of the department, in line with that of the school, to set homework and to expect that it should be completed. The nature of the homework set can span a range of activities. Indeed, it may not be written work, but may include the reading of notes or texts, research and/or fact ? finding exercises.
As well as the amount of formal homework set by teachers, there is also a constant need for pupils to check their knowledge and understanding of each day?s lesson, and when tests or exams are approaching, to revise course work.
