The Journey to Excellence

The Journey to Excellence' is a five part resource developed by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE)

Part 5 is an exciting and extensive online digital resource developed in partnership with Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS). The online resource contains some 350 digital movie clips and case studies of Scottish schools which illustrate features of excellence in their day-to-day work. In these short movies, pupils, parents, teachers, support staff and senior managers demonstrate what excellence means within their schools, and for them personally. Visit the website here .

Am I Normal

We expect health professionals to tell us if we’re 'normal' or not.

We expect health professionals to tell us if we’re ‘normal’ or not, but how do they decide where to draw the line between someone who’s OK and someone who isn’t?.
This set of program’s are on Radio 4 and can be listened to again from the website. The series of four programs consists of the following: Programme 1 - Social Phobia, Programme 2 - Dyslexia, Programme 3 - Maths and Programme 4 - Sleep. More info on the website here.

Connected Spring Issue

The Spring edition of the Connected magazine is now available.

The Spring edition looks at the roll-out of Glow with Laurie O’Donnell, Director of Learning and Technology spelling out what it means for authorities. Professor Kay Livingston explains the importance of an international education and reveals details of the Confucius Classrooms coming to Scotland. There are also articles looking at personalised learning and providing technology to support pupils with additional support needs, the launch of a new music programme, a debate on healthy eating and all the latest education news from across Scotland.
